The Regulation on Portable Automatic Shock Device (Taşınabilir Otomatik Şok Cihazı Hakkında Yönetmelik), prepared by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Türkiye, has been published in the Official Gazette (Resmî Gazete). The regulation aims to strengthen early response to sudden cardiac arrests that occur outside hospitals.

The regulation covers public bodies and institutions, private organisations, public transport vehicles and public places. The places where an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) must be kept are listed in the annex of the regulation (EK-1); see the source below for details.

According to the regulation, the device cannot be placed in a locked area and must be easy to open in an emergency. The voice prompts of the device must be in at least Turkish and English.

Persons and institutions that buy an AED must register their device in the Ministry of Health's registration and tracking system (OED-Net) within thirty days of purchase.

The regulation was published in Official Gazette No. 33102 dated 9 December 2025 and entered into force on 1 January 2026.
